The traditional welcome party of all the delegations was held to bring the nations closer together in an environment of relaxed twinning.
Last Thursday, August 9, at 6 o’clock in the afternoon, the international delegations of the Interceltic Festival of An Oriant had one of the most special events of the festival along with the Grande Parade: the authorities’ party offered by the subprefect of the city and Delegate of the Morbihan district, Pierre Clauvreuil, who took office in March of last year.
This followed a tradition set within the festival calendar for quite some time, in which it is intended to open a different space away the general atmosphere of the festival for all the authorities and delegations participating.
LA SIDRA and the Asturian Delegation headed by Iñaki Sánchez Santianes handed over a bottle of Asturian brut cider to sub-prefect Clauvreuil and Lisardo Lombardía, director of the Interceltic Festival of An Oriant. In this way we wanted to entertain the personalities with the best and the most exquisite that our cider culture can offer.
Within the event, it could be tasted the finest gastronomic creations based on Breton and French products, among which stood out the marriage between white wine and fresh oysters from the Gulf of Morbihan. The cultural and musical animation was carried out by some groups of artists from the present delegations, where the Welsh harps and the traditional music and dance of the country honored in this edition held a very special place.
The person responsible for adding the Asturian sounds to this session, the young piper Jesús Fernández González, caught everyone off guard with a performance as tall as a tree: he was in charge of surprising all the attendees from the top of the oak that dominated the gardens of the residence of the subprefect.
Anzu Fernández is the International Delegate of LA SIDRA and the Asturies XXI Foundation, apart of coordinator of the translations.
He is the ambassador of the Asturian cider at the main international cider fairs, and manager of the international delegations of the International Hall of Gala Ciders (IHGC).
