The Great Parade of the Celtic Nations shines one more year

Today, Sunday, August 5th, the main event took place during the Interlacetic Festival of An Oriant (Lorient) in Brittany. Apart from the great variety of concerts, cultural displays of the Celtic Nations and gastronomy, the parade shone thanks to the good weather.

THE CIDER.- And it is because here in An Oriant where the Asturian delegation from LA SIDRA has moved, it is not exactly bad weather. As a tremendous sun did not daunt the many traditional dance groups and bagpipe bands that dress like every year in their traditional costumes for the Grand Parade of the Celtic Nations.

These nations represented in the festival were Acadie, Asturies, Brittany, Cornwall, Wales, Galicia, Scotland, Ireland, and Isle of Man.

The bagpipes bands of Scotland were something to see, followed by the Irish, Welsh (country of honor in this edition), Asturian and the numerous Breton “bagads”. These bagpipe bands are supported by sponsorship Breton cider mills, which along with the Lancelot beer, show their support for the Breton culture. From the Asturian representation the bagpipe bands El Gumial and the Banda Gaites Villaviciosa – El Gaitero, together with the dance group San Félix from Candás, were responsible for making our culture known and as it has been a habit, they made the Breton and international audience enjoy it a lot.

A good example of the cultural diversity of the different Celtic Nations, both with the things we share in common and with those that differentiate us, makes up a melting pot of international character and of the unity of the peoples.

The Celtic spirit is clear that it is still alive and for a long time.
