Navia Cider Festival Suspended

The health crisis cancels what was to be its twentieth anniversary

THE CIDER.- The same thing that happened with the First Cider of the Year, the Sidracrucs and many other events of a cider nature, the XX Villa de Navia Cider Festival, originally planned for Friday August 7, will not be held either.

And it is that the uncertainty in which we find ourselves prevents making the musical contracts, the orders to llagares and establishing the necessary collaboration of the local hospitality industry, with which, although they were evaluating until the end the possibility of enduring, in the end, they concluded that the health crisis was not going to allow to gather as many people as they usually gather at this festival.

It must be remembered that in last year’s edition, more than 2,000 bottles were consumed and around 1,500 glasses were sold, bringing together thousands of people in this western Asturian town.

That if, in the communiqué issued by the organizing commission, they promise to return for next year with more strength and new hopes, and encourage them to continue betting on cider, and to consume it “nas casas ou nos chigres”, ending with a ¡Puxa Navia and the Cider!
