Closely linked to the recognition of the Doñana National Park as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO since it was, among other positions, its director; He also committed to relaunching the research work for the recognition of Asturian cider culture from the Ministry of Rural Development, although this commitment did not go beyond the promises and declarations of goodwill without any concrete fact. Recently, in the Festival of the Cider of Nava, Casas participated in the Sidrafórum, a talk discussion that dealt with the recognition of UNESCO. In this forum he said: “Asturian cider culture is an element that mobilizes society, and that is what we want the international organization to recognize; that the model of life of the Asturians deserves to be taken into consideration “.
