After the meeting held yesterday by the juries who decided the internationally prestigious SISGA Awards, today is the big day with the Open Tasting for the Public of the participating ciders, which will take place at the Congress Palace of the Trade Fair.
The 15th International Hall of Gala Ciders (SISGA) continues with its busy program of activities. So far, the international delegation has already visited the cider houses JR and Cortina, the Cider Museum of Asturias, the headquarters of Crivencar, where they learned about the Alimentos del Paraíso (Foods of Paradise), and several Asturian cider bars. They also attended an Irish cider tasting and a Japanese cider tasting, took part in a practical cider pouring masterclass given by the Under-25 Champion of the Cider Pourers Championship, Amauris La Pauta, engaged in debates on current cider-related issues, and reflected on the best ways to establish sustainable tourism linked to cider, the development of new products, and many other topics.
These days have served to build personal and commercial ties, but above all to get to know and enjoy the Asturian Cider Culture.
Today it is time to showcase their products: 236 ciders in total, which will be available to the public in an open tasting. There, visitors will be able to sample the ciders, talk with the producers, take part in guided tastings, and pair the finest ciders with Alimentos del Paraíso.
Tomorrow, the event will conclude with the SISGA Awards Ceremony at the Gala Brunch, which will be held at Finca El Duque.
