La Fustariega, two decades of family tradition

LA SIDRA.- It seems that it was yesterday, but twenty years have passed, specifically on May 7, since Yolanda Granda and her mother, Pilar Granda, decided to turn a family farm into a business that, two decades later, has become all a reference of the Asturian gastronomy. And what they have left, since the saga continues and Yolanda’s son, Illán Vega, is already helping out in the cider bar. Located in the town of Verdiciu in Gozón, on the road from Avilés to Cabu Peñes, the farm is located in a spectacular environment surrounded by green everywhere and overlooking the Cantabric sea.

La Fustariega is committed to tradition, with flavors and aromas that bring customers to the Asturian cuisine of yesteryear, where fish fresh from the sea stand out, being able to taste it both in stews, grilled or made in oven. Standing out above the rest, the fishes such as hake, sea bass and grouper, as well as seafood are also in high demand. It is clear that any choice is good, including snacks. The spoon dishes also delight diners, from classic fabada to cabbage with clams. Without forgetting its exquisite rice with lobster or its seafood paella. To accompany, the best option is a good cider, from Peñón, Alonso or Trabanco d’Escoyeta. Desserts, all homemade, are characterized by their juiciness and freshness, shining above the rest the cheese cake and rice pudding.
