Declared of National Tourist Interest, it will be held from 9 to 15 July
LA SIDRA.- One of the most important festivals of Asturies’ most emblematic product arrives once again: The Nava Cider Festival. This festival, declared of National Tourist Interest, will take place from 9 to 15 July and will have a wide range of activities.
On Tuesday of next week will take place in the sociocultural center Llagar de Sorribes the final test of the Best Cider and Apple Derivatives Contest Elaborated in Asturies in the sections of Natural Cider, Sparkling Cider, Cider Ice, Apple Appetizers, Spirits and Vinegars. The next day, will be known as ‘Sidrafórum’ which this year is titled “the other ciders, tasting and potential of the future.” Later, at 18:00, the pre-selection test will be held for the Best Natural Cider Contest produced in Asturies.
One of the days in which more activity will be experienced will be on Saturday 13. In addition to the Weekly Market and Parade of Bagpipe and Drum with the “Coal Bagpipers”; that will be the day in which the final of the Contest to the Best Natural Cider made in Asturies and Nava in the arcades of the City Council will take place. By the way, after the first round of the test, the delivery will be made to the “most beautiful label” of the contest, an activity organized by the group “Sidrastur”.
That same day, at 2:00 pm, the Twinning of Asturies Cider will be held, and at 8:00 pm, the prize will be awarded for the Best Natural Cider made in Nava and Asturies, as well as the best Natural Table Cider, Sparkling Cider, Ice Cider, Apple Appetizers, Spirits and Vinegars; also, to the Best Apple Orchard of Nava. At 9:00 pm there will be the Great Chupinazo and the beginning of the Nava’s Cider Route. Also during the days of the festival, there will be street theater, bowling tournament, concerts of the Municipal School of Music, orchestra performances, fireworks shows, etc. The whole program can be consulted on the site:
