The Contest, of Asturian range, takes this name in honor to the deceased enologist Mundo Collada, personage reference in the defense and diffusion of the cider and its culture.
LA SIDRA.- This year will be attended by representatives of about thirty municipalities and will be held for the first time within the program of the Villaviciosa’s Apple Festival .
For each participating one will be presented the first three classified in competitions previously held in the respective municipalities, the semifinal will take place next Wednesday, October 11th in Plaza de Abastos and from there will be chosen the twelve ciders that will dispute the finals on Sunday 15th in Plaza’l Güevu, where attendees will be able to try the different ciders presented to the competition.

This year, the first prize will consist of an analytical control of cider for a year; the second will receive 25 apple trees two years old, of autochthonous variety, and the third one, 2,500 corks.
