An international delegation from the Asturies XXI Foundation traveled to the Latvian capital to learn about cider trends in northern Europe and promote the upcoming International Hall of Gala Ciders (SISGA’23).
LA SIDRA.- The capital of Latvia will be, from September 6th to 9th, headquarters of the Nordic and Baltic Cider Awards (NICA). This event, which had its first edition last year in Norway, aims to promote the different cider traditions in the Scandinavian and Baltic region.
Due to the growth of the market and the quality of its ciders, an international delegation from the Asturies XXI Foundation will be there these days, also taking the opportunity to promote the International Hall of Gala Ciders (SISGA’23). In this way they will be able to learn about the consumption of cider in Latvia, the specific problems of making cider from the types of table apples, techniques for the best use of apple plantations and acceptance of their proposals before the public who will be able to taste up to 200 different ciders.
Furthermore, in this framework of knowledge and promotion of the great event of non-natural ciders, old acquaintances of SISGA participate. We are proud to announce that many of them will attend this year for the enjoyment of attendees.
Among them the cider mill Mr. Plume, winner of several editions of the SISGA, CiderWorld (Germany) and in the previous edition of the Nordic International Cider Awards.
Anzu Fernández is the International Delegate of LA SIDRA and the Asturies XXI Foundation, apart of coordinator of the translations.
He is the ambassador of the Asturian cider at the main international cider fairs, and manager of the international delegations of the International Hall of Gala Ciders (IHGC).
