The Piedrasblancas cider house has added JR Tradicional and Sed de PKDO to its range. LA SIDRA’s October feature records Pilar Gómez’s first impressions after introducing the producer’s two offerings.

LA SIDRA.— Ye lo que Hay, at 14 Rey Pelayo street, is a cider house in Castrillón serving traditional food and providing a children’s area. The magazine visited to find out about the arrival of Sidra JR at the bar and the subsequent addition of Sed de PKDO.

Two additions to the bar

At the time of the report, the establishment had been serving JR Tradicional for around a month. The feature highlights balance, freshness and acidity among the reasons for choosing it. Sed de PKDO had only just arrived, and Pilar Gómez described the curiosity it had generated among customers.

She also valued the personal attention and prompt distribution service. The experience connects with other conversations about the relationship between cider makers and hospitality, including Corredoria Bar Rock’s experience with Sidra JR.

Traditional cooking in Castrillón

The cider offering sits alongside traditional food. Ye lo que Hay is one of the establishments featured in LA SIDRA’s coverage of Asturian cider houses, where the bottle, its service and the meal form a shared experience.

In Piedrasblancas, the magazine has also covered María Antonia Nuevo’s work at Casa Arturo. These are separate establishments with their own identities, offering different glimpses of the town’s food culture.

Details from the visit

The feature lists Ye lo que Hay at 14 Rey Pelayo street, with telephone number +34 722 727 650. Readers planning further visits can also consult the Asturian cider-house directory.

Published on page 70 of LA SIDRA 270, the report captures the introduction of the two ciders in autumn. The comments about Sed de PKDO refer to that initial arrival.
