The Japanese cidermaker Tatsuro Fuji, recognized ambassador of the International Hall of Gala Ciders, had a prominent role in the reception of the National Day of Spain held at the Spanish Embassy in Tokyo.
At the event, Tatsuro Fuji presented its stand, where it exhibited products from its cider mill, Fukiware Cidrerie, with the aim of promoting Asturies and its cider culture in Japan. Fuji’s participation in the reception was the result of the personal recommendation of the embassy’s public relations officer, who highlighted the importance of having his presence due to his closeness to the Asturian cider tradition.
The two part event, which was attended by important personalities, included a first part dedicated to Spanish authorities in Japan, as well as high rank politicians and senior officials of the Japanese government. The reception highlighted the close ties between Spain and Japan, promoting cultural and gastronomic exchange between both countries. Cider, an emblem of Asturian culture, played a leading role on this occasion thanks to the work of Mr. Fuji, who has dedicated his efforts to transferring our tradition to Japanese lands
In a second part, the event was open to citizens of the Spanish state residing in Japan, who were able to learn more about Asturian cider traditon. Also the reception was a unique opportunity for the Asturian community in Japan to connect with their roots and enjoy emblematic products of Asturies, such as cider, in an atmosphere of celebration and cultural encounter.
Mr. Tatsuro Fuji presented his most recent creation at the event, the “Homage to Asturies” cider, the first Asturian-style cider made in Japan. This cider, in addition to being an innovative product in the Japanese country, pays a heartfelt tribute to the rich cider-making tradition of Asturies, consolidating the Fukiware cider mill as a bridge between both cultures. With this creation, Fuji not only honors the history of Asturian cider, but also seeks to expand its appreciation among the Japanese, reinforcing the cultural ties between Asturies and Japan.
