LA SIDRA.-After a delay on the usual date of celebration, in which the Asturies XXI Foundation, organizer of the event, has been waiting to see if the pandemic normalizes, and after analyzing the evolution, they have chosen not to delay more this international event and discover new circumstances adopting a semi-face-to-face model that guarantees compliance with the sanitary measures that the situation requires.
The X SISGA will be held from October 22 to 25, online and in person. Regarding the face-to-face part, the planned activities are the contest for the best Gala ciders, the tasting and harmonization of the awarded cider with various gastronomic proposals, in what will be a Gala Brunch and finally the awards ceremony.
In the SISGA contest, more than eighty ciders have participated in the last three year’s each edition, classified by categories: glass, pear, liqueurs, spirits … Setting four types of prizes, gold, silver and bronze according to the score achieved, and Premium, for the best cider within each respective category.
As for the Gala Brunch, in which the award-winning cider will be harmonized with various gastronomic proposals, this year it will take place at El Duque Restaurant, whose cuisine is one of the most famous in Asturies, having among other distinctions the Gold Plate Award of National Gastronomy 2016.
