THE CIDER.- The Sagardo Forum consists of a conference in Euskadi dedicated to the apple, its derivatives, and the culture and tourism of the cider. It is celebrated from November 21 to 25. The II International Cider Contest will also take place at the facilities of the Kursaal Congress Center in Donostia and to which 190 ciders from fourteen countries have registered. The tasters will be sommeliers, winemakers, chefs, journalists and gastronomic bloggers. The categories are: Basque natural cider, Asturian natural cider, traditional French cider, traditional English cider, modern cider, ‘premium’ sparkling cider, ‘apfelwein’ apple wine, flavored cider, perada; and ice cider.
In addition, this year an International Cider Fair will also be held, following the example of the International Hall of Gala Ciders of Asturies that this year has completed its ninth edition.
