The International Hall of Gala Ciders (SISGA) will hold its great Public Tasting tomorrow, Saturday, September 27, an unmissable event for cider lovers. The gathering will take place at the Congress Pavilion of the Asturias International Trade Fair, from 12:00 to 15:00 and from 17:00 to 20:00.
This year, 236 varieties of cider from 63 cider houses across 18 countries will be available to visitors. For just ten euros, attendees will enjoy a unique experience: sampling some of the world’s best ciders, speaking directly with their makers, and even purchasing products on site.
The range is broad and diverse: brut, sparkling, table, ice, fire, flavored, liqueur, vermouth, and brandy ciders, among others. Throughout the day, in addition to tastings and exhibitions, several producers will present their ciders, highlighting not only the organoleptic qualities of their products but also sharing the philosophy and methods behind their cider houses. These guided tastings will be accompanied by products from Alimentos del Paraíso, showcasing the versatility of cider as a top-level gastronomic pairing.
Highlights of this year’s presentations include Valverán Ice Cider (Asturias), Fukiware Cidre (Japan), Sidras Baldorba (Navarra), Abuls (Latvia), Patagonia Astigarraga (Argentina), and Ottercidre (Belgium).
As a novelty, and coinciding with the Agropec fair, all Agropec visitors will receive a tasting voucher for an international cider.
Meanwhile, today sees the meeting of the jury for the prestigious SISGA Awards, starting at 9:30 a.m. at the Finca El Duque restaurant. The uniqueness of this competition lies in its fairness: each participating cider house has a representative on the jury, ensuring a balanced and diverse evaluation of the entries.
